Railcar fleet

Railway cargo transportation has been the Group's core business since its initial acquisition of railcars in 2001. The Group owns and leases four types of railcars: oil tank cars, LPG tank cars, box cars and gondola cars.

The Group owns the following types of railcars:

Oil tank cars. The Group owns 2,497 oil tank railcars. These railcars are used for the transport of oil and oil products and have a load capacity of 66 tonnes. The Group's fleet includes four axle types. The useful life of these cars is 32 years. The average age of the Group's oil tank railcars is 7.27 years. The Group's oil tank railcars have been manufactured by Altaivagon, Azovobshemash, Krykov Railway Car Building Works, UralVagonZavod and Ruzkhimmash railcar manufacturers based in Russia and Ukraine.

Gondola cars. The Group owns 1050 gondolas. These railcars are primarily used for the transport of loose bulk materials, including loose sulphur. The Group's fleet comprises four axle type railcars, manufactured by Krykov Railway Car Building Works, Stakhanov Railway Car Building Works, which have a loading capacity of 70 tonnes. The useful life of these cars is 22 years. The average age of the Group's gondolas is 0.64 years. The Group's gondolas have been manufactured by Krykov Railway Car Building Works, Stakhanov Railway Car Building Works and Dneprodzerzhinsk Railway Car Building Works, railcar manufacturers based in Ukraine.

LPG tank cars. The Group owns 1,089 LPG tank railcars. These railcars are used for the transport of LPG and have a load capacity of between 40 and 46 tonnes. The Group's fleet includes four axle types. The useful life of these railcars is 40 years. The average age of the Group's LPG tank railcars is 17.66 years. The Group's LPG tank railcars have been manufactured by Ruzkhimmash, Azovobshemash and Swidnica, railcar manufacturers based in Russia, Ukraine and Polish, respectively.

Box cars. The Group owns 600 box cars. These railcars are used for transporting general freight, including bagged sulphur which is a by-product of oil refining. The Group's fleet comprises four axle types, manufactured by Altaivagon, which have a loading capacity of 68 tonnes. The useful life of these railcars is 30 years. The average age of the Group's box cars is 4.31 years. The Group's box cars have been manufactured by Altaivagon, railcar manufacturers based in Russia.

The Group’s fleet has grown steadily since the first acquisition of railcars in 2001 to reach a total of over 4800 railcars by October 2011. Gondolas are the latest arrival to the Group’s, fleet having been first introduced in 2011. For 2017 the park of a rolling stock of the Group makes 6,192 units, including 5,743 owned. Also in property of the Company there are 5 shunting locomotives.
